Jeffrey E. Martin, partner in the law firm of Levin & Perconti, has practiced plaintiff’s personal injury law throughout his 25 year career. Mr. Martin is dedicated to representing individuals and their families injured through the negligence of others.  Jeff’s hard-work ethic focuses on meeting the needs of his clients with compassion and diligence while paying meticulous attention to the complex details of their case.

Jeff has achieved numerous multi-million dollar results for his clients, including a $5 million verdict against a hospital and resident for mishandling of a tracheotomy tube; a $4.6 million settlement against a Chicago hospital for failure to monitor a tracheotomy tube; a $3.65 million settlement against a municipality on behalf of his clients who were killed after a police car struck their vehicle during a chase; a $2.9 million settlement with a hospital and obstetrician for a newborn’s brachial plexus injuries; a $1.1 million settlement against a municipality, its paramedics, and a hospital for failure to timely intubate; and, most recently, a $1.03 million verdict against an obstetrician for a newborn’s brachial plexus injuries.

Jeff has successfully resolved cases turned down by other attorneys, including a $2 million settlement for the death of a 62-year-old husband and father for failure to diagnose a cardiac tamponade; a $300,000 settlement for a woman who suffered irritable bowel syndrome and other complications from a laparoscopy; a $975,000 settlement for a woman who suffered right ulnar nerve injury during a cardiac ablation (notably, Mr. Martin was asked to represent the woman after she served on the jury for one of his trials).   Most recently, Mr. Martin achieved a $2.25 million settlement against a Chicago hospital for failure to timely diagnose and treat an infection in a five-year-old boy who was recovering from leukemia.

Accompanied by a physically disabled client, Jeff met with Illinois legislators in Springfield to demonstrate the injustice of tort reform. He has served on the Institutional Review Board at Children’s Memorial Hospital, two terms on the Arlington Heights Plan Commission (including Chairman of its Ordinance Review Subcommittee), and on the Board of Directors of a nonprofit organization assisting families living in poverty.  He is a member of the American Association for Justice, American Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (served on Amicus Committee), Illinois State Bar Association, Knights of Columbus, and on the Board of Directors for Chicago Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society for Law & Policy.

Jeff has received an “AV” rating from the Martindale-Hubble American Law Directory, indicating preeminent legal ability and very high ethical standards.

Jeff resides in Arlington Heights with his wife, Marikay, and their children: Shauna, Daniel and Alyssa.
