John M. Rushing joined Levin & Perconti as a litigation associate in January, 2007.  Mr. Rushing joined the firm with extensive experience in products liability litigation with an emphasis in toxic tort and pharmaceutical litigation.  Prior to joining Levin & Perconti, John spent four years in the Products Liability Section of the international law firm of Sidley Austin LLP.  His practice focused on products liability and involved complex issues of epidemiology, oncology, hematology, and lung injury.  John has also practiced in the area of insurance coverage litigation, successfully enforcing insurance benefits for his clients.  While at Sidley Austin, John has served as outside council to numerous Fortune 100 companies.

Mr. Rushing is a native Texan, and was reared in Corsicana, Texas.  In 1996, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and in 1999 he earned his Master of Philosophy from the University of Oxford in Oxford, England.

After earning his Juris Doctorate with honors from the University of Texas, School of Law, John began his distinguished legal career at the international law firm of Vinson & Elkins, as an associate in their Austin, Texas office.

Mr. Rushing maintains memberships in several prominent legal associations, including the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Texas State Bar Association (Inactive Status), Chicago Bar Association and the American Constiution Society.

John has volunteered in several successful political campaigns.  Mr. Rushing has demonstrated concern for the plight of the homeless through his volunteer efforts for the Chicago Temple Committee on Homelessness and the Habitat for Humanity of Illinois.

John dedicates his future career to representing individuals and their families in personal injury and wrongful death cases resulting from medical negligence, nursing home abuse and neglect, defective products, aviation and vehicular collision, premises liability, and construction accidents.

Mr. Rushing currently resides in Chicago with his wife, Lisa.
