When you hear the word intrapartum, you’re talking about what happened during labor and delivery, and intrapartum could have been 30 minutes.
A mom could have walked into a hospital in labor, fully dilated, and delivered her baby 30 minutes later.
That’s still called the intrapartum period.
Some mothers show up at the Hospital the night before they’re feeling some contraction pains they might be in labor for 20 hours or 30 hours.
That would also be called the intrapartum period because it would include whatever time it took for that patient to go through labor and ultimately deliver a child.
