Aleah Severin joined Levin & Perconti in July 2023. She is a dedicated Associate Attorney focusing on Birth Injury, Medical Malpractice, and Nursing Home cases. With a fervent commitment to advocating for victims and their families, Aleah has devoted her career to ensuring their loved ones receive the justice they deserve.

Aleah’s academic journey began at DePaul University, where she graduated in 2010. She further pursued her passion for law and graduated from The John Marshall Law School in 2015. In law school, she focused on medical malpractice, taking a course in Medical Negligence and receiving a Health Law certificate. Aleah’s dedication to her profession is reflected not just in her impressive academic credentials but also in her active memberships with the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA), the Black Women Lawyer’s Association, and the Chicago Bar Association.

Before setting her sights on law, Aleah’s interest in the medical realm began while serving as a pharmacy technician at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Her legal journey led her through various internships and externships, including Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, and most notably with a judge at the Circuit Court of Cook County, Law Division. During her judicial externship, she was captivated by a birth injury trial igniting her passion for birth injury law.

Prior to joining Levin & Perconti, Aleah was an Attorney at another Chicago Personal Injury Law Firm. There, she took charge as the lead attorney on all birth injury and NEC baby formula cases, advocating for children who were seriously injured.

At Levin & Perconti, Aleah plays a pivotal role in the firm’s national birth injury team. She recognized that minorities are disproportionately affected by birth injury trauma and nursing home abuse. With the firm’s powerful birth injury and nursing home practice backing her, Aleah can advocate for and stay connected with families throughout their legal journey.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Aleah enjoys playing piano at her church and imparts her musical knowledge by teaching young girls. Living in Chicago, she enjoys the magnificent mile and walks along lake Michigan.
