Lauren E. Park

Associate

From the suburbs outside Indianapolis to the high-stakes courtrooms of Chicago, Lauren E. Park has built her career around protecting society’s most vulnerable patients and families. She joined Levin & Perconti straight out of Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2018—armed with a Health Law Certificate, a spot on the Dean’s List, and editorial experience at the Annals of Health Law—determined to blend her lifelong fascination with medicine with the strategic storytelling that drew her to trial work. Within weeks she was asked to run the firm’s intake department, where she fielded anguished calls about pressure sores, surgical errors, and unexplained nursing-home falls. Those early conversations still guide her approach: “Every chart tells a story, but the client’s voice has to come first.”

By March 2019 Lauren moved from intake to the courtroom, and results followed in rapid succession. In just six years she has recovered more than $45 million for clients, among them a $7 million medical malpractice settlement, $5 million and $4.6 million hospital-negligence resolutions, and a $3 million failure to diagnose cancer award, along with multiple six-figure recoveries for pressure-injury and assisted-living-fall victims. Her advocacy reaches beyond trial courts: in 2024 she convinced Illinois’s Fourth District Appellate Court to affirm a circuit-court order that refused to force a nursing-home case into arbitration—an opinion now cited statewide to safeguard residents’ right to a jury trial.

Colleagues quickly recognized the blend of empathy and meticulous preparation that defines her work. Lauren was elected Co-Chair of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association Young Lawyers Division (2023-2026) and serves on the Illinois State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Council (2025-2026), mentoring new attorneys on discovery strategy and motion practice. Her peers have named her an Illinois Super Lawyers “Rising Star,” while the Chicago Law Bulletin has included her on its “Emerging Lawyers” list—honors reserved for fewer than five percent of Illinois practitioners under forty.

Lauren’s commitment to elder-rights reform extends well beyond litigation. She has authored articles, including the plaintiff’s chapter in IICLE Long-Term Care Litigation 2023, delivered talks including a national CLE on the Federal Nursing Home Reform Act, and was featured by the Illinois Bar Journal for her analysis of arbitration traps hidden in admission contracts. Whether drafting scholarly commentary or deposing corporate nursing-home officers, she relies on the same eye for detail she first developed while earning her psychology degree at Indiana University—an approach clients have called “a joy to work with.”

Asked what success looks like, Lauren doesn’t cite headline numbers. Instead, she recalls the widow who finally slept through the night after learning the facility that harmed her husband would be held accountable. “During litigation my goal is to streamline the case while collaborating closely with my clients—listening, educating, and advocating with compassion, dedication, and an eye for detail,” she says.
