John Perconti, Margaret Battersby Black, and Daisy Ayllon reached a settlement for the family of a man who choked to death at the Center Home for Hispanic Elderly on the Northwest side of Chicago. Margaret Battersby Black and Daisy Ayllon filed a medical malpractice suit against Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The suit alleged that following our client’s Cesarean section surgical procedure, the doctor failed to remove a laparotomy sponge that was left inside of her abdomen.

Mike Bonamarte was recently interviewed by a local Chicago radio station. The interview covered the current state of healthcare and the Affordable Care Act. The question posed to Mike was whether the healthcare industry is ready for the anticipated increase in patients who now have access to healthcare as a result of the Act. Mike explained among other things that the healthcare industry must respond by making sure that there is an appropriate staff sufficient in number, training and supervision to handle the increase in patients.

Margaret Battersby Black and Daniel Goldenfaden filed a wrongful death suit against Symphony of Crestwood nursing home. The suit alleged that Symphony was responsible for our client’s development of pressure sores, a knee fracture, and the improper reinsertion of a gastrostomy tube that caused an infection and eventually led to her death.

Mike Bonamarte filed a nursing home lawsuit against Presence Ballard Nursing Center in Cook County Court. The suit alleged that nursing home negligence caused our client to suffer a serious bed sore on his heel that became infected. As a result, our client had to undergo a below-the-knee amputation.
