I’m aware of data that has been published that actually recognizes that timely C-sections can result in better outcomes for babies.
Labor and delivery is not a completely benign process.
Babies get knocked around during labor.
Babies don’t always come down the birth canal cleanly and smoothly.
The baby’s position can often lead To babies getting stuck in the birth canal.
You have babies with shoulder dystotions.
You have babies whose heads end up swelling up as they are forced to come through the birth canal.
The idea that a vaginal delivery is always safe and never results in complications for either mom or baby is not a reasonable statement to make either.
