What Proof Do You Need to File a Hazing Lawsuit?

Video Transcript

When you’re considering filing a hazing lawsuit, the first question is: Is there an injury related to the lawsuit, and did that injury come from hazing that occurred on a team or at an institution? The second question would be: Did the institution know that this was happening, and did they do enough to prevent it? That means they either knew that this was going on and they failed to stop it from happening, or they should have known—that it was obvious enough or in front of their face enough to know that this was happening and that they should have acted. The other questions are: For how long did they know this, and what, if anything, did they do to try to prevent it before it stopped? In many instances, we see, unfortunately, that sometimes the adults in charge at the institution are actually not only aware of it, but they are encouraging it and participating in it.
