Iโm envisioning a situation where an individual is deciding to meet with an attorney, and then that potential client might say to themselves, โWhat should I bring with me?โ Really, nothing would be fine, but it canโt hurt to try to think through the events leading up to the tragedy that occurred that is causing you to see a lawyer. But the thing that helps us most is a good chronological account to the best that you can do, because sometimes things go wrong that shouldnโt have gone wrong, and our clients donโt even know how it happened. So what we try to do in what weโll call the initial decision, whether to undertake a case, is get the basic facts from our clientโs point of view. Then the next step is if we believe it would merit filing a lawsuit and representing someone, then mostly we do the record acquisition process, because the people that we sue typically do not give up their records easily.
