What Steps Should Parents Take If They Suspect Medical Negligence Led to Their Child’s Birth Injury?

The steps that a parent should take to determine whether or not they have a claim for their child’s birth injuries—the most important one—is to talk to an attorney. It’s going to be hard to get answers from the people that are at the hospital, so the advantage we have is being able to talk to people that will determine that. We do things really, really quickly. Right when we’re contacted about a potential claim, we send out letters to the hospital and to the doctors to preserve evidence. We gather all of the evidence; we get the medical records from the hospital that the baby was born at. We look at medical records and imaging studies; those are the detailed types of answers that we can get for parents. But the most important thing, really, the first and only step, is to contact somebody as quickly as possible.
