When Jonathan Schuyler joined Levin & Perconti in February 2025, he brought with him a lifelong commitment to advocacy shaped by his upbringing in Baltimore, Maryland. One of eight children in a family that opened its home to foster children with disabilities, Jonathan learned early the value of empathy, patience, and using one’s voice for others.
Today, he applies those lessons in his work at Levin & Perconti, where he helps draft pleadings, briefs, motions, and discovery materials; stays closely connected with clients, experts, and insurance representatives; and coordinates depositions throughout the litigation process.
Jonathan’s path to the law was anything but linear. He spent his childhood and early adulthood playing trumpet and French horn, singing, and appearing in theatrical productions—interests that led him to pursue a music degree at Towson University and briefly live in New York City. Eventually, the same passion for expression that fueled his artistic life drew him to the legal field.
Now a law student at DePaul College of Law, Jonathan has served as a staffer on the DePaul Law Review, clerked twice for the Law Office of the Cook County Public Defender, participated in DePaul’s Criminal Appeals and Croak Community Legal Clinics, and volunteered with Cabrini Green Legal Aid.
He lives in Chicago with his wife, daughter, dogs, and a lively flock of chickens, and enjoys cooking, gardening, cheering for Baltimore sports teams, and the performing arts.
