If anything changes during the pregnancy, it could be before labor and delivery, so I referred to that earlier as the intrapartum period.
We also have the antepartum period, which is a very fancy word for all of the time leading up to labor and delivery.
So that could be months of time.
Mothers are familiar with, well, I go to my doctor every 6 weeks, then every 4 weeks, then every 2 weeks, then every 1 week.
So all of that time, can fall under the heading of the antepartum period, and all of that is necessary if ultimately the goal is to reach a point where mom goes into labor and can push out a healthy baby.
