Bryan A. Ruggiero joined Levin & Perconti in November 2017, and was hired as an associate trial attorney in 2018. He graduated cum laude in the top 5% of his class at The John Marshall Law School, and was on the Dean’s List for five semesters.

Bryan has a passion for trial work, and began obtaining valuable trial experience in the Traffic Division of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office with his Illinois Supreme Court 711 License in 2017. There, he personally tried 11 cases with 11 successful verdicts, and litigated a number of other matters and hearings. Bryan also served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Jorge Alonso of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago, Illinois.

As an associate at Levin & Perconti, Bryan handles a number of complex medical malpractice, nursing home, assisted living, community integrated living arrangement (CILA), wrongful death, premise liability, dog bite, and personal injury cases, and he plays a key role from the outset of the case through trial. In 2020, Bryan helped obtain a successful jury verdict and recovered $650,000.00 on behalf of a family who lost their loved one at nursing home after suffering an unwitnessed and undocumented fall and hip fracture. Since 2018, Bryan has helped to recover tens of millions of dollars for his clients and their families. Some of his notable settlements include:

  • $2 million medical malpractice settlement for the failure to diagnose coronary artery syndrome
  • $1.5 million medical malpractice settlement for the failure to diagnose an aortic dissection
  • $1 million CILA group home elopement and fall settlement
  • $1 million nursing home pressure ulcer settlement
  • $650,000 nursing home fall and pressure ulcer settlement
  • $595,000 nursing home fall and hip fracture settlement
  • $500,000 nursing home fall and hip fracture settlement

Bryan’s decision to pursue a career as a trial attorney handling medical malpractice and personal injury cases was made at a young age. Bryan has said, “Since I can remember, my life’s mission has been to help those in need, and to stick up and protect the most vulnerable in our society. I’m so thankful to have the opportunity to serve and advocate for victims and their families who deserve justice, especially those, like the elderly, whose voices might not otherwise be heard.”

Bryan grew up in Downers Grove, Ill., and attended Downers Grove South High School. He graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in May 2015. As a law student, Bryan was the Presiding Barrister of the Trial Advocacy & Dispute Resolution Program, which was ranked #13 in U.S. He was also inducted into the Order of John Marshall for his outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements, and he earned a number of other awards including the Best Overall Advocate Award at a trial advocacy competition his team took 1st place in. In his spare time, Bryan coaches the trial advocacy team at The John Marshall Law School, spends time with friends and family, and is a sports enthusiast.

Testimonials
★★★★★
Margaret, Daisy and Bryan. This magnificent cohesive team led by Margaret represented us for my mom's nursing home wrongful death case. They were most patient and responded timely to many questions throughout the entire process. All demonstrated professionalism and extensive knowledge of case and state laws. Their in-depth investigative work uncovered details which were unknown to us and yet sadly confirmed our suspicions. We would recommend the Levin and Perconti Law firm and especially this team. Mr. Levin, Mr. Perconti and the firm handled a medical malpractice suit for my family. During that time, my family and I suffered the loss of my mother. Mr. Levin and Mr. Peconti were more than just our lawyers. Words can’t really express our gratitude. My family and I will always be grateful for the compassion that they showed us. I want to thank you for what you did for my family, and for always being there for us. W.R., Medical Malpractice Client

Our deepest appreciation to the law firm of Levin & Perconti, and in particular to Margaret Battersby Black, in the handling of the lawsuit we field n behalf of our sister who sustained life-threatening injuries as a nursing home resident. Margaret’s representation, guidance, and professionalism gave us the sense that we could put our trust in Levin & Perconti and the final outcome proved that to be true. D.G., Nursing Home Client

I want to send my heartfelt thanks to John Perconti and the Levin & Perconti staff in taking our case. Not only were they so professional but also so caring and thoughtful. It was very difficult going over the facts in our mother's case but they were so compassionate and understanding and allowed us to be with them every step of the way. We were able to sit in on the depositions and we were really able to see how hard they worked on our behalf. M.R.Z., nursing home client
