Julie Murphy advocates for people who have been seriously hurt or whose loved ones have been injured or killed. Focusing her practice on medical malpractice and nursing home neglect, Julie offers legal support to help people through difficult situations.
Before joining Levin & Perconti, Julie was an attorney for the City of Chicago. She defended city employees in a wide range of civil lawsuits, including wrongful death, civil rights, premises liability, motor vehicle collisions, police pursuits, and professional malpractice matters.
Julie has extensive experience litigating a range of civil cases in both state and federal jurisdictions. Julie uses this professional knowledge, and her personal determination, to achieve justice for people who have suffered as a result of someone else’s actions.
Born and raised in Chicago, Julie graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law. While attending law school, Julie served as a law clerk for the Honorable Warren D. Wolfson of the Illinois Appellate Court. She also clerked in the United States Army Judge Advocate General Corps and the United States Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Illinois. Prior to pursuing a career in law, Julie was a research technician studying immunology and microbiology at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center.
In her spare time, Julie volunteers as a mentor, and enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
