Katie Miller is an associate attorney focused on handling nursing home and personal injury cases. She first joined Levin & Perconti as a law clerk in December 2020.
Katie previously was a law clerk for a family law firm in Chicago, where she assisted partners on matters related to divorce, child support, parental responsibilities and visitation.
Katie graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School. During law school, she interned at the Children & Families Practice Group for Legal Aid Chicago. As an intern, Katie prepared case documents including motions, pleadings and briefs. She conducted client intake and appeared in court to obtain orders of protection and present status reports.
As a certified student attorney for the Community Legal Partnership for Health Clinic in Minnesota, Katie was an advocate for quality care for patients by identifying and resolving legal issues affecting their health and wellbeing. She provided advice and referrals to obtain benefits and services for patients and their families.
While in law school, Katie was heavily involved in several student law groups including: the Civil Rights Moot Court Team; Law School Student Philanthropy Board; Education Policy Committee; Louis D. Brandeis Center Law Student Chapter Vice President; Women's Law Student Association Service: HomeLine Advocate; Street Law Instructor; and Legal Clinic Divorce. She also was awarded the Professional Essentials Milestone and was recognized on the Dean’s List.
As an undergraduate student, Katie was a student legal investigator with the Washtenaw County Public Defender’s Office in Michigan, where she assisted the public defender’s office with their case load. She also was a student legal intern for the Pediatric Advocacy Clinic at the University of Michigan Law School, where she researched Medicare and Medicaid services of speech generating devices for litigation.
In her spare time, Katie enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
